Finally, “Cirkulacijia” closed with the most beautiful performance of this season in Lithuania. Inspired by the older people she met, mainly her grandmother and father, Mexican clown Gabriela Muñoz created the performance Julieta.
“Julieta” belongs to a rare category of performances: high quality to satisfy audiences with high artistic demands, and far from snobbery, so as not to cause any discomfort to people gathered simply to be entertained. Without saying a single word to explain the situation for an entire hour, Gabriela Muñoz allows the audience to meet their own Julietas: mothers, grandmothers, neighbors. Or the old women of our dreams: what we would like to have near or what we would like to become.
Although the structure of the play is as solid as Julieta’s agenda, its content clearly shows the beauty of an unpredictable, absurd but firmly self-confident person. These are not values in themselves; Its light is revealed only when wisdom and sincere love for oneself and for life take root alongside ignorance and absurdity. People like this are the most beautiful thing that happens on this Earth, and their existence is the most pleasant and necessary example and lesson for others. So it’s a shame for those who didn’t have time to pick up the phone when Julieta called them.
