Alondra de la Parra and Chula the Clown take us into a fantastic universe where illusion and reality collide. It is from this constant struggle that sparks arise and with it, light is created. Chasing light. Light found. Light that goes out. The story of Silence of Sound is the story of life. The journey of a being in search of luminescence and also of shadow. It is a staging of the great journey of the human being, through imagining, loving, hurting. At the end of the dream journey is life itself; friendship and love but above all the realization that being human is a mixture of desires, contradictions, reality and fantasy. All part of the same. The life that happens on the border between dream and nightmare; between confetti of notes and colors. Through symphonic pieces by Debussy, Stravinsky and Brahms among many others and accompanied by a majestic visual composition, Chula travels through the world of Alondra de la Parra’s music, desiring, seeking, risking, and taking us to the limit without knowing what she will discover along the way.
It is a story everyone recognizes with their heart.
Dream with us.
The Silence of Sound is a multi-disciplinary performance for the eyes, ears and soul that has been created. No longer confined to the pit, the orchestra becomes an integral part of the story as it accompanies and guides a clown through her journey towards true fulfillment.
“When the clown stands in a magical blue whirlpool of shining starfish, even the greatest sceptical believes in the beauty and goodness of this world.”

“The fabulous duo, Alondra de la Parra on the conductor’s podium and Gabriela Muñoz on stage, captivate the audience together with the magnificent Babelsberg Film Orchestra.”
